Fire Inspector of the Year
Michigan Fire Inspector honors one of our members every year with the Fire Inspector of the year award. Nominations are taken every year for members who have represented the qualities of a fire inspector and have aided the organization. Some of our previous recipients include:
2010 Fire Inspector Ralph Przybylski (Independence Township Fire Department) was honored for his efforts in promoting fire and life safety. Inspector Pryzbylski’s efforts were highlighted with a heart felt thank-you from Fire Marshal Jeff Oldenberg. Inspector’s Pryzbiski’s continued diligence and installation of a new fire lane at a local school lead to the seconds that were needed to save the life of Fire Marshal Oldenberg’s daughter.
2009 Fire Marshal Jim Hutchison was honored for his outstanding service to MFIS through his work on many committees including merchandise and code development. Fire Marshal Hutchison has also provided above and beyond promoting fire safety to Wyoming residents and businesses.
2008 Art Shaw, honored for his continued commitment to MFIS and dedication to the organization practices and mission. Art has been dedicated in assisting with code development at the state level including the adult foster care rules, LPG rules, and many others.
2007 Inspector of the Year
2007 Bruce Johnson, was honored for his continue service to his fellow Fire Inspectors and for his continued commitment to develop Inspectors across the State. Fire Inspector Johnson served on the planning committee and was instrumental in the development of South East Michigan Fire Inspector Society
