State Recertification Documents to be Mailed by End of January

Certified fire inspectors through the Bureau of Fire Services may have noticed that their certification expired on December 31, 2009.  According to the State Fire Marshal Ron Farr and staff of the BFS, the process is well underway and nearing completion.

Currently staff is preparing to print the certification documents and verifying that the CE requirements have been met.  Those who have obtained the minimum number of CE points will automatically be renewed and the certification with a CE statement and instructions for thee next renewal process will be mailed by the end of January.

NFPA Exam Dates

The Michigan Fire Inspector Society is a proud host of the National Fire Protection Association certification exams.  The next scheduled examinations are listed below.

  • December 11, 2008   Schoolcraft Community College   9:00am to 1:00pm
  • February 2, 2009    Kellogg Hotel & Conference Center – East Lansing   9:00am to 1:00pm

Applications have to be received by Marty Myers at least 4 weeks ahead of the test date.
