Southeast Michigan Fire Inspectors All Day Training on September 15, 2009

This one day course will provide education on fire investigations, plan review techniques, and a great class titled Fire Inspector 101. The class is featuring: Fire Investigator Michael Waite, from Kerby Bailey and Associates, Mr. Tim Blackwood from Fire Safety Consultants and Mr. Mike O’Brian from Brighton Area Fire Authority

DATE: Tuesday, September 15th, 2009

TIME: Continental Breakfast at 8:15 am with class to start promptly at 9:00 am.

LOCATION: Troy Community Center, 3179 Livernois Rd. Troy, MI 48084, One block north of Big Beaver on the west side of Livernois.

COST: The cost for this training is $40.00 and each attendee will receive training materials pertaining to the classes. A continental breakfast, lunch and an afternoon break is included. Most importantly, each attendee will receive 8 CEU’s from the state. Points are applied for. RSVP deadline is Tuesday, September 8th, 2009

3-Day Educational Opportunity in Brighton

The Brighton Area Fire Department is hosting the National Fire Sprinkler Association educational series on August 19-21, 2009.  The classes will include a two day course on NFPA 13, Overview and Introduction to Plan Review, with a third day on Sprinklers for dwellings.

August 19-20, 2009
NFPA 13 Overview and Introduction to Plan Review, this course will look at hazard and commodiites, identify different sprinkler system, water supplies, system components and much more.  The class is a great opportunity for fire code officials, building officials, mechanical inspectors, contractors, and consultants.

August 21, 2009
Sprinklers for Dwellings is based on helping reduce the fire problem in Michigan.  This one day course reviews NFPA 13D, basic hydraulics, testing and maintenance of residential sprinkler system.  The course is excellent for contractors, fire marshals, company inspectors, mechanical inspectors, building officials and plan reviewers.  Sign up today!

Northwest Regional Training Center will be hosting the NFPA Fire Inspector I course.   This 80 hour course will assist in preparing you for the NFPA Fire Inspector I exam.  Upon successful completion of the NFPA course the student can apply with the Bureau of Fire Service for certification as a fire inspector.

• Dates: Mon. – Fri. Nov. 3-7, 2008 8:00 am – 5.00 pm and Mon. – Fri. Dec. 1-5, 2008 8:00 am – 5.00 pm
• Location:    Northwest Regional Fire Training Center  Nimrod Rd, Traverse City
• Cost:  $725.00 per student
• PREREQUISITE:  High School Diploma or GED.
     (Must be a fire department member to receive certification)
