I’m the Fire Inspector for the Detroit Arsenal, US Army, in Warren MI. Our department is the Detroit Arsenal Fire and Emergency Services. I look forward to learning from other Fire Inspectors.

Thank you.

Two Questions:

1) Is there a certifying document for membership in MFIS? I have paid the membership dues and have received conference notices but nothing of an official nature.

2) What can be done about inspector training for the Capital Area, any of the 4 day courses I’ve seen are significantly out of this area.

Jon, Great questions that we do get on a couple of basis. As for the first question, we do not provide a “certifying document” although if one is needed, you are encourage to contact Ron Farr the Secretary of the organization. His contact information can be found http://mfis.org/about/executive-board/

As for the class in the capital area, we will talk to Marty Meyers although we are always looking for partner fire departments and organizations to help in this area.
