The Bloomfield Township Fire Department (BTFD) was recently awarded a $64,150 grant from the federal government for the purchase and installation of 1,675 wireless smoke detectors. This is a highly competitive grant program and the BTFD is currently one of just four fire departments in the State of Michigan to receive an award during this funding cycle. The money will fund a project that enables early notification and protection of high risk groups of children, adults, and seniors in the 24 adult foster care facilities and the five most populated multi-unit residential apartment/condominium complexes in Bloomfield Township.
