F0635 - Best Practices in Community Risk Reduction Course

December 7-8, 2023

Brighton Area Fire Authority

2755 Dorr Rd. – Station 34

Brighton, Michigan

Through a partnership with the National Fire Academy, we are offering an opportunity for you to attend the NFA - 0635 Best Practices in Community Risk Reduction course. The minimum number of students required to hold the course is 15 (maximum is 30). If we do not meet the minimum threshold by October 31, the course will be cancelled. There is no charge to attend the class. Beverages will be provided. Lunch and snacks will be the student's responsibility.

Scope:

This two-day course demonstrates to students nationally recognized principles that, when used appropriately, can lead to community risk-reduction programs that can measure success in local communities. This course will give students the opportunity to explore programs from communities across the United States that have been showcased at Vision 20/20 symposiums. These programs demonstrate what nationally recognized organizations identify as examples of "best practices" in community risk reduction.

Continuing Education Points:

This activity is currently under review by the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs – Bureau of Fire Services to offer continuing education points. Estimating approximately 13 continuing education points for the two-day course.
